EUROLINK FSS VLOG TRANSCRIPT
Craig Penland:
Hey folks. Craig Penland here. I just got back from the NFDA Executive Summit down in Key West. Beautiful place but I’m still trying to figure out how ‘Key West casual’ means sweating through a collared shirt while pretending you’re comfortable. But hey, it’s hard to complain when your business meetings include palm trees and key lime pie.
One of the sessions I attended was on personal accountability. And let me tell you, that class stepped on a few toes… including mine.
It reminded me that accountability isn’t about pointing fingers. It’s about looking in the mirror. And believe me, sometimes the guy staring back at me is not impressed.
In business, it’s so easy to blame the economy, the supply chain, or that one vendor in Germany who’s apparently always on vacation. But at the end of the day, results don’t come from excuses; they come from ownership.
And at Eurolink, that’s something we take seriously. If we say we’re going to do it, we do it, even if that means chasing down freight faster than I chase down dessert at a networking dinner.
That whole talk on accountability got me thinking about something Jesus said in the book of Luke. He told His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.’
Now, we all know Jesus wasn’t talking about cornfields or supply chains — He was talking about the Kingdom of God. But the principle still hits home: there’s opportunity everywhere… if you’re willing to get up, get out, and get to work.
And as we head into Thanksgiving, that idea of the harvest being plentiful really resonates with me, in faith, in business, and in life. The opportunities are there. The question is: are we working the field, or just complaining about the weather?
At Eurolink, we’ve made it our mission to get out in that field and do the work. Our customers don’t want excuses; they want metric fasteners, and they want them fast.
That’s why we’ve got our FAST, FASTER, and FASTEST freight options, because sometimes you just need those parts yesterday. We move parts from Europe to North America faster than a turkey disappears on Thanksgiving Day. And unlike your uncle, we actually show up when we say we will.
So, as we wrap up this season of gratitude, I want to encourage you to take ownership of your harvest. If you’re tired of suppliers who make excuses, try one who makes deliveries.
Let Eurolink quote your next metric requirement. Worst case, you find out your current supplier really is the best. But let’s be honest though… that’s about as rare as leftover pumpkin pie on Friday morning.
From all of us at Eurolink, happy Thanksgiving! May your tables be full, your hearts be thankful, and your freight — well — FAST, FASTER, or FASTEST. Penland Out.
